spspr.jpg (14479 bytes)"Chinaman" Sprinkle Plenty Sprinkler with Iron  The fun of collecting figural sprinklers is in the seemingly infinite variety of characters, personalities, and individualistic facial expressions that are portrayed.  This hard-to-find example of the Sprinkle Plenty figure holding an iron at his side isn't just in super condition---it even retains its original paper label!  If you have been waiting for one in this kind of condition to come along, then this one is for you.

Good . . . . .  $100.00       SOLD

patentglasssprinkler2.jpg (17445 bytes)Glass Bulb "Pat'd" Sprinkle Bottle  This laundry sprinkler has an unusual bulbous shape and that wonderful look of early glass.  It is marked with the letters "Pat'd" and the side, and the bottom is flattened to prevent it from ever rolling off the edge of the ironing board.  It's complete with its original perforated aluminum screw cap.  It's a nice one and in excellent condition.

Good . . . . .  $45.00       SOLD

Washboard
/ Scrub BoardWashboard / Scrub Board  Similar to, but different from the one above.

Good . . . . .  $55.00       SOLD

Washboard
/ Scrub BoardWavy Washboard / Scrub Board  This one incorporates a wavy surface to help with the job and lends a different look to the design.  The thing to remember about these types of washers is that they were still being sold , designed, and even patented well into the 20th century.   To be used.  In other words, some folks had the new fangled Maytags or Easy washer, or other large and elaborate contraptions to help do the laundry, while the rest of the country and world was still walking down to the creek and having a go at the weekly chore with one of these.

Good . . . . .  $125.00       SOLD

laundry stoveAntique 2 Tier Laundry / Iron Heating Stove  This stove has a great look.  It breaks down into 3 pieces.  It will carry close to 16 or so irons and must have been used in a commercial or institutional setting.  The top swivel lid is a carefully redone replacement that is hardly detectable.  Stoves like this work great in a workshop setting on concrete floors where all the heat generated can be absorbed and evenly distributed.  Or they make for a great display in a corner for some of the highlights of the antique iron collection.

Delivery is available at my fuel costs along the West Coast when I am traveling, or I may be able to deliver it elsewhere headed east in the spring or fall of next year.

Good . . . . .  $295.00       SOLD

Magee
Furnace Co. Sadiron Heating StoveMagee Furnace Co. Sadiron Heating Stove  Here is another example of a cast iron stove from the late 1800's that was designed specifically for heating pressing irons.  The idea with these stoves was that you could have numerous sadirons heating on the stove at all times so you would always have several hot ones ready to go.  The 7 inclined "shelves" along the sides of the belly of the stove are formed to securely hold 7 irons in their upright position, leaving the top of the stove available for a wash boiler and to keep the round removable stove plates accessible for adding more fuel to the fire.  These stoves are a great way to display a collection of irons.  This example is marked Magee Furnace Co. Boston.  There is a chip in the bottom edge that you can see in the pictures, but other than that the condition is very good.  Note the Queen of Hearts design on the legs which are charming replacements.

Good . . . . .  $450.00       SOLD

Smoothing BoardFigural Handle Smoothing Board  The handle of this highly decorated smoothing board is very interesting.  It could represent an animal or sea serpent, or it looks kind of like a chariot, or weapon, or ????.  The top of the handle has both the recipient's or maker's initials "SKD" and the date of 1740.   It has some old worm holes, but it is stable and solid, and looks great.

Good . . . . .  $975.00       SOLD

Decorated
Mangle or Smoothing BoardDecorated Mangle or Smoothing Board  This example has some nice design work and embellishments or engraved lines and decorative edging.  It is set up for two handed operation.  There are some old worm holes, but it is solid and not in danger of crumbling.

Good . . . . .  $125.00       SOLD

Decorated
Mangle or Smoothing BoardMangle or Smoothing Board & Roller w/ Turned Handle  This is a very nicely done smoothing board with matching roller.  The surface on this one is really nice with an interesting design to the handle.

Good . . . . .  $195.00       SOLD
