Barnes
#6 Scroll Saw The
operation of this model is different from most of those encountered in that
it derives its power from a small round leather belt and pulley system instead of
the springy wooden arms which are typical on these saws. This example is in
very nice condition and has no major casting problems or breaks. There is
still considerable pin striping on the body, and it displays very nicely.

Small
Treadle Powered Lathe This small lathe
is in very nice condition, and there are no casting breaks in the frame or foot
pedal. It is unmarked as to manufacturer, but is typical of the many different
styles that were available back near the turn of the last century.
Good . . . . . . $295.00 SOLD
Goodell
Pratt Lathe This Goodell Pratt small lathe is in very nice condition,
and there are no casting breaks in the frame.
Good . . . . . $295.00 SOLD
Star
Pedal; Powered Jigsaw Star Jigsaw has been restored.
It looks pretty good and seems to be operable. I believe the table has
been recast / replaced. It has a lip at the edge and so might be right and
just buffed up for the restoration. Note that under the arm there is a tube
and rod affair. This looks to be a recreation to represent what i assume was
a blower to blow the dust from the work. The rest of this saw looks great
and it is a very graphic and showy piece with its flared leg design and paint decoration.
There is patent info up near the top, and a lot of original paint and decoration
remain there.
Good . . . . $495.00 SOLD
Lathe
/ Jigsaw Combination This has been restored as well. It too seems
to be in operating condition, and the unusual little lather attached up front looks
original and operational as well. It will need a belt to make it work though.
The foot pedal looks to be a later wooden replacement. The tool box attached
to the frame does not look original to me. I believe the table may be a replacement
as well.
Good . . . . . $395.00 SOLD
Hobbies
Jigsaw This Jigsaw is as found. It looks pretty good and
seems to be operable. It seems to just need a cleaning and to be tightened
up, or bolted down.
Good . . . . . $295.00 SOLD
Barnes
Velocipede #2 Jigsaw This pedal powered
Barnes jigsaw has been sitting on the same shelf for over 20 years. It was
repainted and restored when bought, and has sat idly waiting for its time
to come. The shelf is about 8' up in the air so it was a bit difficult to
get any real good shots. I could not see any repairs or evidence of welding,
but could not get all the way around it. Both the buyer (a collector), and
seller (another collector), were old time tool collectors, and any major mechanical
defects would have been addressed before raising it to this resting place.
These Barnes Velocipede model jigsaws are becoming very hard to find
these days. The price assumes there is nothing materially wrong, and if truly
interested I can give you more detailed info.
