The
Wonder Rope Winder This magnificent rope
winder is one of the larger of the commercially made 5 strand models available.
This example is missing the wooden handle from the back side, but is in otherwise
excellent condition. These Wonder Rope Winders are tough to find, and this
example is ready to go back home to the collection and be displayed, or be put back
to work.

November 12th 1901 The overall condition of
the rope maker / winder is very nice. This style rope making machine was
designed to straddle a fence rail.
The upper portion is made of cast iron. The lower portion is wood with a
slot to straddle the rail. The
wood is a bit dried out and has some cracks but is solid. Good + . . . . . $150.00 SOLD!!

The NUWAY Rope Winder
This unusual rope winder or rope twister kind of reminds you of a smiley face, and
that is what you see on the faces of those who are lucky enough to find one of these,
at just about any price. It is all original and damage free. The
only info is Pat. Appl'd For and the name cast into the housing on both sides.
It is a five strand and the bottom center hook revolves in the opposite direction
from the rest when you crank it up.

Pelton
Type Water Motor Unmarked, but with the
classic double cup design it is a Pelton. From an era when water was
plentiful, and cheap. I bought this at a street fair one day as a
forge blower from a lady dealer I can never buy anything from. Lucky me.

The Monarch Double Slant Wheel Hog
Oiler from Iowa This is a rare and
difficult to find hogoiler. It is damage free, meaning no welds cracks or
other major damage. For those who want a short history lesson these were developed
and designed roughly from just before the turn of the last century in to the 20's
or 30's when the advent of pesticides relegated most of them to the scrap iron heap
out in the back forty or down the nearest gully, where most of today's rarest and
best ones come from. During their hey-day, there were 100 or more different
designs available. The basic idea was that by using the hog or pigs natural
tendency to rub, scratch and root, he would do that on or against this and when
the wheels turned, the oil in the reservoir would come up getting on the pig and
help to control the lice and bug problem as well as keep those cute pink ones from
getting sunburned. I have seen a couple of the best collections and have handled
some great ones in the past, and this is a real good one.

Primitive
Wooden Shovel & Fork
The shovel is carved
from 1 piece of wood. It is American, or at least was bought as such back
in the 70's.
I am not sure of the intended purpose of the fork. Probably
to lift some light material like hay into the wagon. It is in very nice condition
and not a form you find or see very often.
Neat!!
